Here’s the second of my Midweek Missed Connections entries. This week’s suggested setting, provided by Casey Morgan, was “At Sea.” I altered it just a bit for my own story, setting it at the seashore. I hope you enjoy.

APHRODITE AT THE BEACH

Goddess seeks god for mutual worship – w4m – 29 (Newport)

Nye Beach was packed last Saturday, but I saw you. Long before you saw me, I picked you out among the crowd. You stood out. It was one of those rare hot and cloudless days, but unlike the majority of men there, you kept your shirt on. Why? You can’t be insecure about your body if the musculature of those lightly tanned calves and thighs are any indication of what you kept hidden.

I watched as you approached the water. You stood ankle-deep, gazing at the horizon, but didn’t go any farther. Even on a rare day like that, with the sun beating down and no hint of wind, the water here is cold, but sometimes you just have to plunge right in.

As you left, you passed me, looked down and admired me in my bikini, but as our eyes met, you turned your head and continued walking. Thereafter, I watched the water lapping the shore, caressing the sand like a lover. Can you imagine me caressing you like that? I can, and I did. I want to be your Aphrodite, your ocean goddess, lapping at your sand-colored skin, my shy Adonis. I saw pain in your eyes for the brief moment they were within view. You’ve been hurt. I promise to be gentle with your heart, if not your body. My passion is as hot as the ocean is cold. Are you ready to take the plunge?
